Swimming Fun

This term Room 7 has been lucky enough to have some time in the pool learning some water skills. Today Miss Donnell brought some noodles into the pool and we were able to show off our floating skills. First we practiced floating on our backs, then we floated on our stomachs. Miss Donnell gave us some time to practice our swimming stokes with the noodle too.
Dayton you are confident in and around the water. It is great to see how much you enjoy coming to our water skills lessons. You are able to put your head fully underwater and I have seen you practice floating and sinking. It is great to see you using the pool noodle to float on your back and your front. I'm so glad you are having fun and taking risks with your learning.

L is for Lazy Lion

We have started our learning journey this year with the letter l. Room 7 had a phonics activity that made an awesome lion! Dayton did a great job colouring in the lion; I could see him trying so hard to stay inside the lines. He also cut out his lion and was determined to curl the mane by himself. After he had finished making his own lion, Dayton walked around to see where the other children were up to with the activity and helped some students cut their lions out.
It is great to see the positive start Dayton has made to a new classroom this year, especially with helping our new tamariki.
Keep up the fabulous work Dayton!
